Things Grow

How to arrange your life

I promised to write about coping mechanisms and I will, but, let’s do this first because it’s something to consider.

When you let things be, they might grow, and, the fuel for growth is attention.

You should deploy attention carefully because it is limited in supply. There’s only so much you pay attention to, and the level to which you pay attention is the level to which the things in your life grow.

If you pay attention to anger, it’ll grow. If you pay attention to kindness, it’ll grow. If you pay attention to what you love to do, it’ll grow. If you pay attention to what you hate to do, it’ll grow.

So I find that a lot of people don’t want certain things, emotions, qualities in their lives but it’s all they pay attention to and that’s a helpless struggle. The way to get over it is to rearrange the items on your attention budget and allocate the desired amount of attention to the things you want to grow.

If you want to be a baker, get you some attention plan to help you achieve it in a specific period.

If you want to be more loving, get you some attention budget for love to do the things that help you to love and you’ll be fine.

You are helpless and at the mercy of what you pay attention to. Your defense is at the point of paying attention. The moment you pay attention, it grows.

How about things you don’t want… easy, starve them of your attention, and oops, they died.

Coping mechanisms tomorrow.
