See differently

Something about perspectives

Is this right or wrong, pretty or ugly, needful or not? Well, that depends.

A lot of how we see the world is based on our environment and experience. It starts at birth, then we evolve, growing up.

The people we talk to and the ones that talk to us. The music we listen to, the places we go, the things we see, the cultures and technologies we are exposed to.

Hence, life is a matter of perspective. The brain interprets information based on storage. That’s why change is uncomfortable at first and math can give you a headache sometimes. The brain can’t find something to relate that venture or adventure to, in its regular storage.

You see a dam, someone else sees power

You see a painting, someone else sees history

So, it pays to understand that people see things differently and that’s a good thing.

So, it pays to understand the discomfort that comes with change and learning something new. It’s normal.

So, it pays to broaden our ideas and expand our capacity to create. New books, new relationships, new communities.

Our capacity to see and imagine is limitless and we can harness it, right here, right now, from our current position.

We can see differently, we can be better, we can do… we can be… we can… we can…
